You know those books that you read and come across a sentence or statement and just go, "Wow! That is so true!" or, "Wow! Profound! Why didn't I think of that?" A Life That Matters by Ron Hutchcraft may be a book like that for you. As Christians, living as best we can with hope for a future in a better place, desiring to serve God as He needs, we do want to make the greatest possible difference--for Him.
When I first looked at the book, it seemed more than I wanted to read. Yet, as I browsed through the chapters I found good information and inspirational material. Not only that, the chapters are broken up into small sections, so there are a lot of good places where you can stop, think about what Hutchcraft wrote or go do another task, and then read further through the book.
For example, I think a lot about evangelism. I think about how a lot of us, though earnest in our efforts, attempt reaching out to others with the Gospel without the proper training and mess it up. Well, in this book one of the things you will find are "five sentences that describe today's lost people." Hutchcraft believes that many of our methods of evangelism do not address the personality of today's men and women.
At the end of each chapter there is a section called, Going Deeper -- Would You Like to Supersize That?
I think that you can see that I am going to recommend this book. I liked Ron Hutchcraft's clear writing style, and I liked that there is stuff for me to think about and information that I can apply to my life right away.
