Currently children's die cut shape books from the past are a popular collectible item. The best condition ones are the most difficult too find because children's books need to withstand over the years their intended use--reading and handling by children.
Shape Book Number 790, The Night Before Christmas, is large in the sense of height being 15 inches tall. As a stickler for details, I am always trying to document sources. This edition does not document the illustrator. As a publisher Donohue was known for inexpensive publications intended for the general public at large, and most likely the illustrations were copied for this book from another source.
This edition of The Night Before Christmas is a great collectible book suitable for the Santa collector, family reading, and also for something as useful as old fashioned style home decor that is so much appreciated during this nostalgic holiday season.
