Three Cheers for the Bangles contains a poem of the same title as the book, and nine independent stories about the Bangle children and their parents. The stories are moral tales with the Bible teaching right behavior. The following are three examples of what the stories are about.
1. Right Down into Your Heart: When Billy and Patty Bangle go berry picking they make it into a contest to see who can pick the most. Mother Bangle weighs the berries and Billy is declared the winner. Patty came close but only because she took berries from Billy's pail and put them in her own. Mother Bangle explains to her that yielding to temptation to sin and that she must admit to Billy what she did and ask forgiveness which Patty willingly does.
2. The Rescue: Billy is warned by Mother Bangle not to go ice skating with his friends because in March the ice on lakes is not safe but goes anyhow. One of the boys, Danny, falls into open water. The boys are able to get him out of the water but end up trapped on an island. When it gets late and Billy is still not home, Patty frets about what to do because she demanded her brother's special pen in return for her silence. In the end Patty does tell her mother and parents rush to the lake to rescue the boys off the island. Safe at home, Billy regrets his disobedience, Patty no longer wants the pen and the Bangle parents are grateful that all of the children are safe.

Three Cheers for the Bangles
I say, "Three Cheers for the Bangle Crew!"
With the help of the Father they came through;
They never stay sad;
They never stay bad;
They're trying, you see, God's will to do.
I say, "Three Cheers for the Bangle Home!"
With the help of the Son they're never alone;
In need of all kind,
Christ has them in mind
And cares for their wants from His heavenly Throne.
I say, "Three Cheers for the Bangle Five!"
With the help of the Spirit they keep alove
A love for the best
That stands the test;
He helps them the Lord to magnify.
I say, Dear Bangles, with God by your side,
Your pathway to light, your life to guide,
Do watch your walk,
And watch your talk
So others may know that in Christ you abide.

Now there's a name you don't hear very often! I had the privilege to play the part of "Billy Bangle" on the KYB Club radio show from 1964-66. It was a real treat and a privilege to work with Aunt Theresa and her team.
